Yes, if your country charges any local import taxes or duties, these costs are yours.
Please ask your local customs office if you are unsure. You are responsible for
assuring that the product can be lawfully imported to the destination country. When
ordering from Vein Wear, the recipient is the importer of record and must comply
with all laws and regulations of the destination country. Orders may be subject
to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The
recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs
duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional
charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control
over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely
from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further
information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays
beyond our original delivery estimates.
Shipping usually takes 4 business days by EMS to most countries. We don't have any
control over shipping times, so please allow enough time for any delays or customs
requirements in your country.
Your privacy is important to us, and we know that you care about how information
about your order is used and shared. We would like our international customers and
customers shipping products internationally to be aware that cross-border shipments
are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities. Also, we may provide
certain order, shipment, and product information, such as titles, to our international
carriers, and such information may be communicated by the carriers to customs authorities
in order to facilitate customs clearance and comply with local laws. The cost of
the item is stated on the customs form. Customs authorities require the value of
the item to be stated directly on the package.
If you return a product to us, you will be the exporter from the destination country.
Title and risk of loss transfer to us upon receipt at our fulfilment centres.
If you are returning a package to us, email us a copy of the shipping receipt and
we will give you a credit (non-refundable) for the cost of the shipping up to AU$40.00.
You will need to pay the cost of shipping the package.
We will exchange or re-make your shoes if, when you purchased them, you emailed
or uploaded your foot sketch on the Vein Foot Sizing Chart and qualified for the
Correct Size Guarantee.
You can return a pair of shoes for a credit or exchange if they don't fit and you
qualified for the Correct Size Guarantee, or if you receive shoes different to the
ones you ordered, or if the shoes don't satisfy the Manufacturer Warranty, or if
the shoes are ready-to-wear (in-stock) shoes and you don't like them. Customised
shoes cannot be returned if you just don't like them, but you will love them.
The shoes have a base price which you can see in red text when you select an upper
design. The base price includes a durable rubber sole. If you would like more expensive
sole constructions, like leather and stitched leather soles, they are added to the
base price.
We have a large collection of limited edition, genuine leathers in stock. We select
the leathers ourselves based on quality and the fashion of the day. You can see
them in the Materials tab in the customisation section. See the Leathers tutorial.
At any time we may have various cow/calf, sheep/lamb, goat/kid or pig leathers.
You can read the description of each leather by clicking on the leather description
pop-up within the Materials tab in the customisation section. See the Leathers tutorial.
No. We stick to the standard mammals. Their leathers are the best for making shoes.
And their skins are a by-product. That is, they are not primarily killed for their
skins, unlike snakes and other exotics.
Yes. When customising your shoes, in the Design tab, you can choose leather soles
in the Sole construction step. Leather soles can be cemented or stitched. There
is an extra cost for these options. Leather soles also take longer to make and deliver
than the standard rubber soles.
There is a lot of debate about this question. In our opinion, rubber soles are a
better option. They have better traction and durability. They are just as easy to
repair or re-sole. They are more comfortable. There is a certain prestige associated
with leather soles, though. And they are a fine option. In the end it's a personal
choice. We recognise this and offer rubber soles, leather soles and Blake-stitched
leather soles. Leather soles also take longer to make and deliver than the standard
rubber soles.
We can arrange a gift certificate, but not currently through the website. Please
email us (vein@veinwear.com) and we will arrange a gift certificate that can be
used on the site.
It may be, depending on the leather. Email us your request (vein@veinwear.com) and
we will arrange for you to send us a swatch of the leather to determine its suitability.
We are not able to give any discount for supplying the material, but on the other
hand we won't charge any extra fee for the service.
About three weeks for rubber-soled shoes and five weeks for leather-soled shoes.
Rubber-soled shoes take just over two weeks to make, and leather-soled shoes take
just over four weeks to make. Shipping by EMS is about four business days to most
countries. So we say you should have your rubber-soled shoes in about three weeks
from ordering, and your leather-soled shoes in about five weeks from ordering. But
there can be shipping and customs delays. So if you are buying shoes for a certain
date, like your wedding, give yourself a couple of extra weeks to be comfortable.
We know finding your size can be challenging. But we are here to help. Go to the
Sizing page and follow
the various instructions. There are sizing options ranging from quick to accurate.
If you've got the time, email us (vein@veinwear.com) and we can step you through
the most accurate way to measure your feet. You can qualify for a Correct Sizing
Guarantee for your purchase. So don't worry too much.
Probably. If you have feet that don't easily fit most shoes, tell us by email (vein@veinwear.com).
We can take you through a more detailed foot measuring process. From there, we can
see what we can do. It is possible to make larger fitting shoes. There may be extra
costs associated with this, ranging from AU$30.00, depending on the needs of your
feet.
There are formulas for calculating shoes sizes based on standards. Since our shoes
are made in European sizing, the US and UK equivalent sizes were calculated by converting
from the EU size. Australia does not have a shoe size standard, so most people just
use the UK standard as the Australian sizing.
